Types of Malaria:

 

• Plasmodium falciparum is the cause of severe malaria, it is a protozoa and is transmitted by the female Anopheles mosquito.

 

• Plasmodium vivax is a protozoa and only causes malaria in humans, it is

          one of the four malaria parasites that commonly infect people.

 

• Plasmodium ovale, a species of protozoa that causes tertian malaria

          in humans. 

 

• Plasmodium malariae is also a protozoa that causes mild malaria in humans, it is also one of the common malaria parasites that infect people.
